Dehydration causes Chapped Lips

Water is necessary to keep the skin hydrated and remove toxins from the body. A person should drink at least 6 (200 ml) glasses of water a day. When our body does not get enough water our skin and  lips become dry and chapped.

Contact Dermatitis can cause Chapped Lips and Dark lips

Contact dermatitis is a skin reaction resulting from 'contact of an external substance with the skin.' Cigarettes, lipstick, coffee and tea can cause contact dermatitis which in turn causes the lips to darken and chapped.

Sun Exposure can cause Dark Lips and Chapped Lips

Too much sun exposure can also cause the lips to darken and chap. The layer of skin on our lips is quite thin and lacks the pigment melanin. Melanin helps protect the skin from the sun. As the lips continuously get exposed to the sun it gets damaged. Lip care sunscreens are an ideal protection for lips against damage caused by too much sun exposure.

*Sunscreens come with the symbol SPF meaning Sun Protection Factor. SPF 21 is a recommended sunscreen since the number indicates how many times the lips are capable of being burnt by the sun if the sunscreen was not applied. Many advise to apply sunscreen an hour before going outside in order for it to be effective.

Lack of Vitamins can cause Dark Lips and Chapped Lips

When we don’t take enough B-complex vitamins and iron our lips can become dry and chapped.

If we don’t consume enough foods rich in vitamins A (carrots, tomatoes and green, leafy vegetables), Vitamins C, riboflavin, calcium and magnesium, it can cause our lips to darken.

Listed below are a few home remedies to treat Dark Lips and Chapped Lips

Vaseline, Olive oil or Shea butter to treat Chapped Lips

Apply a thin layer of Vaseline, Olive oil or Shea butter on your lips at night before going to bed as it will help moisturize your lips and protect it from dryness and chapping. Homemade Green Tea Ginger for a Healthy Liver and Weight Loss

Are you suffering from belly fat?
Have you tried exercising, dieting and even pills but none of them worked?
One reason could be that your liver cells have accumulated too much fat.
When we consume meals having more fat than our body can handle, the extra fat ends up in the liver. This can trigger the appearance of fat in the belly, thighs, arms and legs.
Abdominal fat is one of the hardest to lose. Stubborn abdominal fat must first be loosened before it can be removed from the body.
Two ways this can be done is to sip about 4 glasses of water upon wakening up in the morning and to also drink 2 cups of green tea with ginger slices twice a day.

You should also aim to sip atleast an additional 4 to 6 glasses of water throughout the day. You will be amazed at how much fat gets removed from the body within a short period of time.
Sipping water instead of gulping it down helps to remove toxins in the body in a healthy way.

Gulping down water is a big no no! Google the reason and you will be amaz…

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Warts and Moles

Warts and moles are two separate skin problems and not the same as some people think.

A person gets warts by direct skin contact with a person who has it.
Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus’s entry point is any area of the surface of the skin which has a cut or abrasion. It enters through the broken skin and settles there. The virus then grows and forms a wart.
There are over 100 types of warts and the common ones are:
Common wart – found on hands and fingers
Plantar warts or foot warts - found on the soles of the feet
Flat warts – common amongst children and can be found in clusters of 20 to 100 on the forehead, the neck, arms and hands. Women also get it on their legs.
