How to prevent Diaper Rash

Babies are susceptible to diaper rash if their diapers are not changed on time or if diapers (cloth diapers) are not washed properly.  Using strong detergents to wash diapers or not drying the baby’s bottom properly after a diaper change can also cause diaper rash.

Listed below are a few ways to prevent and treat diaper rash in babies.

Avoid using baby wipes when cleaning your baby’s bottom since it contains chemicals. Instead use a mild baby soap and warm water with a soft wash cloth. Make sure your baby’s bottom is completely dry when putting on a new diaper.

When washing cloth diapers make sure to first soak it in hot water and a little vinegar to get rid of bacteria.

Avoid using plastic pants over the cloth diaper. Plastic pants tend to keep moisture in and restricts air flow hence putting the baby at risk of getting diaper rash.

If your baby has diaper rash then apply some Drapolene Cream. This is one of the best creams in the market to prevent and treat diaper rash. It can also be applied on baby’s bottom at each nappy change.
