Arthritis pain occurs when the cartilage which holds the joints together, gets damaged. A joint is where two bones meet. When the cartilage is damaged the bones rub against each other causing immense pain.
Straighten and bend the joint for about 3 minutes twice a day. This will prevent the joints from getting stiff.
Soak the area of the joint for 10 minutes in warm water which has a teaspoon of Epsom salt added to it. Then apply a balm which has been specially made to treat arthritis pain.
An ancient Japanese remedy to treat inflammation caused by arthritis is to eat cherries. Cherries are rich in potassium, a mineral effective in reducing swelling. For best results consume six cherries a day.
The cherries can be fresh, frozen or tinned.
